International Outreach
Romania 2005

Our mission to Romania was extremely successful and very rewarding. We went out with Lifelink (Manchester) who have been serving the Romanian and Gypsy people out there for many years.
We split into two groups. One group in Craiova and another in Segarcea.
In Craiova the team took out hearing aids for the deaf school and sound proofed a room so the children can be tested. The press and the Director of education came to the opening on completion and everyone was very happy with the work done.
In Segarcea our work involved helping to fit a much needed heating system in the prayer house (Church). God knows how they have managed in the extremely cold temperatures of the past winters. Now everyone both Romanian and Gypsy will have a warm place to worship and sing praises!
Our work also centered around the Romanian Missionary GiGi and it was a privilege to see the work he and his wife Dana are doing there with the whole community, especially the children. They have abundant energy and Love for the people they serve.
The whole experience was extremely humbling and the hospitality of the local people was incredible! People who make the most of life despite their circumstances and who materially have very little. They really appreciated the gifts of clothes that we took.
Their spirit and love will stay with us all, and I personally hope that for The Raindance Foundation it is the beginning of a long and prosperous friendship.
My heartfelt thanks go to all involved and in particular the Lifelink team who made it all possible. Thank you all and may God continue to bless your work.
